Ghorepani Poon hill trekking is short but an exciting trek that will let you explore the major attractions of Annapurna region just in 5-6 days. This short trekking trip is especially for those adventure lovers who are bounded by their time limits. Short trek to Ghorepani Poonhill offers a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty of the Annapurna region. Poonhill is located at an altitude of 3,210m and the trek to Poonhill passes through beautiful local villages, rhododendron forest, and, of course, get access to panoramic views of Nepal’s most famous peaks e.g. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna I and Annapurna South.

The are is very rich for hidden treasure of Nepalese culture and tradition. The area is an inhabitant of world's famous warrior 'the Gorkhas' the indigenous peoples e.g Gurung and Magar. Charming village, dense rhododendron forest, Oak forest full of birds, green hills and patchwork valleys are most interesting part of this trek.

Day 01: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga

Day 02: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

Day 01: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga
We will cover 42km distance from Prithvi Chowk and cross beautiful Lumle village to Nayapul (1,050m). Poonhill sunrise trek starts from Nayapul. Following Modi River, we will walk past forest of blooming rhododendron and cross small stream. We will cross Birethanti after about half an hour of trek and arrive at Tirkhedhunga.

Day 02: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Steep trek for about 2hrs will take us to Ulleri (2,070m). We will cross the Magar village of Banthanti from where we can get spectacular views of Machhapuchhre Mountain (6,997m), Hiunchuli Mountain (6,441m) and Annapurna South Mountain (7,219m). We will cross the small river and climb to Nangethanti. We will arrive at Ghorepani from where we can get soaring views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and other mountains.

Day 03: Ghorepani to Poonhill to Tadapani
Poonhill is popular for best sunrise view in Pokhara. We will rise very early and reach the base of Poonhill. About an hour of climb will take us to Poonhill viewpoint. We can get sunrise view over Dhaulagiri Mountain (8,167m), Annapurna I Mountain (8,091m), Annapurna II Mountain (7,937m), Annapurna III Mountain (7,855m), Annapurna IV Mountain (7,525m), Annapurna South Mountain (7,290m), Nilgiri Mountain (6940m), Tukuche Mountain (6,920m), Varaha Shikhar (7,847m), Lamjung Himal (6,931m) and other mountains. We will return to hotel in Ghorepani for breakfast and then take descending trail to Tadapani village from where we can get views of Annapurna South, Annapurna II, Fishtail and other mountains.

Day 04: Tadapani to Ghandruk
3hrs of easy walk through forest of oak, rhododendron and other alpine flowers will take us to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the large Gurung village. We can get striking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna III, Hiunchuli and other Mountains from viewpoint in Ghandruk. Homestay in Ghandruk is a pleasant experience. We will be welcomed by the locals with Khada and traditional dance will be performed in evening in our honor.

Day 05: Ghandruk to Pokhara
From Ghandruk, we will lower down through the scenic route with views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail and Gangapurna Mountains. We will cross the forest of blooming rhododendron and reach Birethanti from where we will take the downhill walk and follow Modi Khola till we reach Nayapul from where we will Taxi and reach Pokhara in an hour.
